This is a rather appropriate acknowledgement for this Month. And I think it’s about time Fashion projected some meaning and UMPH! So don’t you tell me you didn’t know it was the all famous ‘Movember’…as she’s not going to have that taped moustache through until December :p!
Hello and yes, I am aware this lovely lady is sporting a rather dangerous yet exciting eye feature, a mighty monotoned skin tone and a slightly pointy/scary looking moustache! However, the purpose of this shoot was to enable our team’s inner creativity to explode and ooze with a theme of androgyny!
I wanted to create this post for the purpose of bringing further awareness, acknowledgement and creativity to Fashion & Styling. A photo-shoot doesn’t have to consist of a stereotypically ‘flawless’ & perfectly poised and posed model…sometimes, Fashion needs to display more unique and deeper meaningful looks and especially ones that can be used for the good of Charity!
‘Movember’ is a highly respected and well known Month throughout November time, especially here in the UK. It’s a time where guys can have a bit of fun, get lazy with the razor and ditch the clean and perfectly shaven faces, all for the serious cause of Cancer…(more specifically, prostate & testicular Cancer). A true ‘Mo Bro’ grows and grooms his moustache for the entire month! And it’s not only men who can get involved in this spectacular array of moustache mayhem…Women can too! (Not in the way your thinking…). Women, or perhaps a more appropriate term, a ‘Mo Sista’ can support the boyos by taking part in sponsered runs, wearing fake moustaches, donating, purchasing the all famous ‘I <3 Mo’ T-shirt or simply to support their Man, throughout their journey of Movember.
I created the displayed Styling images with a fabulous team of talented creatives, who’m I work quite closely and regularly with. We have a strong bond and understand each others strengths. I have always loved these images and thought what a perfect way to give a more visual message about ‘Movember’, with this! If you would like to know anymore information on ‘Movember’ and would like to get involved, then go to www.movember.com
