Valentines Day – Pre Pampering | Cult Beauty

Cult Beauty is one of those dreamland websites, you can find yourself getting seriously lost within! That is if you’re a lover of all things beauty, ofcourse! The products they showcase, are top of the range, sumptuous, quality driven ones, where you know your body will thank you for life, once you indulge it in such enriching loveliness!

Aside from Fashion, if you’ve watched some of my most recent Youtube videos, you may well be aware of how passionate I am regarding  skincare and beauty too. It’s something I enjoy to read about and most importantly, delve my skin into! For years now, I have heard constant mentions of Cult beauty from a number of ‘Beauty Guru’s’, as well as general beauty adorers over various blogs and regularly visited social media sites, such as twitter and instagram…and quite frankly, I can’t get enough!

So, I decided to put together my top pre-pampering picks, for those up and coming Valentines Day occasions. Whether you’re having a night in with your girls, accompanied by wine, chocolate and a line up of chick flicks (bliss), or you’re seeing that someone ‘special’, everyone deserves to treat themselves every now and again, and learn to un-wind & look forward to such up and coming occasions, with a pure pamper evening.

Personally, I have no idea what I will be up to this Valentines, as me and my boyfriend haven’t made any arrangements as of yet, however one thing which would be lovely to do, is to just totally de-stress, give my skin a little TLC, and as stated previously, look forward to what may lie ahead. (Whether it be a lovely dinner at a top-notch restaurant, or just a cosy night in, with a takeaway), I would love to sooth my body and skin in the following perfect products, for whatever the day may bring!.

The first step to a pure unwind, for me, is to run a beautiful bath! Light all your favourite candles, whether they be scented or not and just create that peaceful and subdued atmosphere, that you know you’re dying to be a part of. Personally, once your bath is filled, I would take some of the Aromatherapy Associates deep relax bath & shower oil, and mix it round, to enable your skin to soak up all that beautiful soft moisture, which mine so badly needs right now!

Then, to ensure maximum smooooothness, (most likely before getting out that trusty razor), I would love to give my body a good quality scrub, using the Moroccan Rose Otto sugar body polish, by REN. I have recently purchased my first ever REN product (I know, I know!), and I absolutely loved it, so I’m more than looking forward to trying another product from their range. It will also make your after bath moisturising even more of a joy, once you feel how super soft your skin is.

I also wanted to include the Therapie boost hair & body wash, which looks like a fabulous product for a two in one deep cleanse, as well as an opportunity to really indulge in that stress less feeling. The Cult Beauty description of this product also states how it restores energy levels, which would be perfect if you were flagging slightly. (I would ideally follow this by sipping on a refreshing, yet soothing smoothie or something ultra scrumptious to make your body inside and outside, feel ultra loved!).

Then, once bath time comes to an end, (big booo, I know, but we don’t want to look like a shrivelled prune now do we?…my hands go especially wrinkly if i’m in there for longer than I should be, haha) – One of my most important steps is to moisturise! It nourishes the skin and if you have time, try patting it into the skin rather than rub. I’ve found it absorbs better and leaves a less oily/greasy feeling. For this, my choice would be to use the Eau d’italie Body milk. It’s supposed to smell amazing too, which is always a bonus.

Finally, it’s time to protect and spruce up that face! At the moment, I am suffering with major tired eyes and bags, so need something to soothe, just in time for that special day. The Rose soothing & protecting moisturiser from MV Organic Skincare looks and sounds beautiful. Due to my current sensitive skin, something like this, which includes Rosehip oil is counted as almost a healing ingredient, which is just what I need right now! The other MV Organic Skincare products are also kind ones, in regards to even eczema covered skin! So if you’re a sufferer, this is the one.

I also love looking at Cult Beautys top 10 products, and know that what you will be buying, will be totally worth it. Every item previously mentioned, would be a pure, luxurious treat for my body, and I can’t wait to have more of a nosey at their other online products & makeup, despite how dangerous it may be for my bank balance!

I would like to wish all you beauties an enjoyable Valentines Day, in advance, whatever you may be up too. And if you have no plans, even if you’re not in a relationship, it’s a good excuse to make some! Just make sure you look after yourself, first and foremost! So if you’ve not visited the Cult Beauty site before, take a gander! You won’t be disappointed. Also let me know your favourite skincare products at the moment, i’d love to know! x

Deep blushed lacquered lips

IMG_8073

Lipstick is possibly my favourite makeup product, of all time. With my pale complexion and deeply creasing eye-lids, I find that my lips are what I can create a statement with, with the use of a fabulous lipstick, lacquer or gloss! In todays post, I wanted to show you two of my most recent lip purchases, and how they look, when combined together!

When I excitedly visited my local Space NK the other day, I went straight over to the Nars counter, where I more than drooled over the beautiful array of shades, that were on display! My favourite type of lip product, has to be a matte lipstick, and since I’ve begun to find my preferred colours are of a berry, deep or plum type shade…when I came across Volga, I instantly fell in love!

I find a lot of lipsticks can appear to be more intimidating than they actually are, so if you’re thinking of trying a new lip product, yet are worried the colour looks to dark, swatch and sample it with the testers that are on show, and I can reassure you that you will be pleasantly surprised. This colour is more of a deep wine colour, which glides on beautifully upon the lips. Again, the good thing with these types of lipsticks, is that it is build able. You could simply dab it on the lips for a subtle hint of colour, or get a lip brush and really layer the product up, creating as strong a lip colour as you wish!

The next item I purchased, was one that intrigued me greatly! I have never owned a lip lacquer before, so when I spotted the last one of these perfectly purpled lip products in Topshop, I wanted to try it right away. When applying to the lips, this lacquer goes on, almost like a gloss, yet dries completely matte! A-M-A-ZING! This may now be my new favourite product. Eek, I get far too excited over these things haha!

Since I purchased both lip products on the same day, with full intention of filming a new Youtube video later on that day, it took me no time at all before I got them both on my lips, and wondered what they would look like, when applied together. And, as you can see from the images, this was the result! I was really happy with the outcome, and know these two are going to take me right through the year, through all seasons, which is both exciting and reliving, as I always want to get my moneys worth when spending £10 or over on a lip product.

If you’ve not tried products from either Nars, or Topshop, you should. They did not disappoint!

Fresh faced, Natural New Year Makeup

IMG_7847

A fresh face can be, well, refreshing! Though, saying that, I adore coating my lashes in mascara and making my eyes a statement, where everything else on my face is pretty bare. With Christmas coming to an end and the New Year approaching, I find it important to take the time to wind down, appreciate what I have around me and basically learn to love what you were born with and enhance features in a more neutral manner.

Like previously stated, my lashes are an element of my face that I enjoy ‘enhancing’ if you will. I never wear false eyelashes, (I have done, I just prefer not too and find that they can give me an overly heavy look), so finding a mascara that will give me a naturally volumising look, is all I need. In this case, shown in the images above and below, I chose to wear one of my favourite mascaras, Maybeline’s ‘The Falsies’. It lengthens and volumises in a rather beautiful and ‘un cakey’ way.

On my eyelids you may be able to see that I’m wearing a few neutral pinky colours from the Naked 3 palette! Before I applied, I prepped and primed my lids with the benefit Lemon aid primer, which is simply gorgeous! I was kindly bought this perfect Urban Decay palette for Christmas, and am loving it. I really love rose gold tones and this palette is full of them! A slight hint of shimmer is all I need for a naturally appealing look. I was also bought a few other items from Ted Baker for xmas, such as this black liquid felt tip like eyeliner, and a new benefit lipstick, which is a rather rare colour for me to wear! I usually go for deep reds, plums and peaches yet never seem to wear much pink, especially soft pink. But, for a change, I’m really enjoying wearing it :).

I’m looking forward to getting dressed back up for New Year, however in the day times, I think i’m going to be doing more of a natural makeup look, that enhances the features and the skin I was born with :). I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and do let me know what natural makeup products you’re loving this month! Also, I’m not sure if you can tell, but I bought myself a brand new camera and am very pleased with the results! In this instance I’ve not edited or touched my photos since I snapped them! I wanted a camera that took more crisp and clearer images, and this canon 700d does just that! Note – I was lucky enough to buy it on Sale, from Currys and used all of the money I received from Xmas to go towards it.

Happy Halloween!

www.i2style.wordpress.com

There’s not long left until midnight on this spooky Halloween evening! Which I thought would be a rather appropriate time to upload this post! I felt inspired by the accessories and items I had around me at home, and since most of the fashion blogging world had got creative today, I decided to join in with the fun!

So, after work, I came home…put on my black floral head crown from Wild Flower Crowns, which I’m sure you’ve seen featured in a few of my previous posts, as it’s perfect for so many occasions throughout the year…and truly got into some sort of gooouley character! Quickly following, the deep vampy lips made an appearance & deep red glitter eyes, which I think looks rather creepy yet cool!

I also love to experiment and upcycle with various items that I see lying about around my room, and I thought this spike, skull statement necklace from H&M would be perfect placed upon my forehead, to add even more umph to this look & the flower crown! I purely created this look as a bit of inspiration for future Halloween events or occasions that may pop up our way! It was easy to create and with the addition of a cool rara skirt, which I’d turned inside out and placed upon my shoulders, the look was pulled together pretty quickly! So if you’re stuck in the costume department, or can’t afford to go out & purchase one, have a look and see what’s lying about around you, you may surprise yourself once you put your creative style brains to the test! 😀 If you created any cool, creative looks this Halloween, let me know in the comments below, i’d love to see them!

Oh, and me & my boyfriend carved some pumpkins, take a peak below…if you dare :p (we named them ‘Earnie & the Bat’)! Ahem.
