Wearable Tech Pins You & I Are Loving

i2style

It’s no secret that i’m fascinated by wearable tech and what they’re able to do for not only futuristic fashion shows, but the health world and many other industries too. It’s amazing how a piece of specially designed technology could aid with someones quality of life, so i’m here to show you via Pinterest, which pins you and I have been loving recently and why they’re so interesting.

Firstly, 3D printing is booming! Companies like Strategy’s are collaborating with innovative designers, such as Van Herpen to create second skin like designs for Paris Fashion Week. (This was my most pinned image recently).

Francessca Barchiesi concept around expanding the communicative power of sign language, by reading and converting hand gestures into practical movements is pretty cool! The glove can also be used to translate sign language used by deaf people, into spoken language! For a student – Francessca’s ideas are one’s I’d love to see develop and become even more of a success.

Perfecting movement is a huge aspect of any professional dancer’s (or similar) profession. And, with the help of wearable technology, this side of ‘practice makes perfect’ has got a whole lot more advance! By electronically tracing the movement of dancers, Lesia Trubat’s uses a lily pad arduino microcontroller board to record the pressure and actions of their feet and send the signal to an electronic device.

Subtle ombre sunset lip

Recently, I’ve been reminiscing about the Illamasqua Ombre pink lip, I created around this time last year! Consequently, it was only a matter of time before I tested out a new one! Seeing as we’re currently in a slight transitional, seasonal period, it can be a little tricky knowing what to wear, let alone what lip colour to rock! So, as a salute to Summer…as, let’s face it, Mr Sunshine has definitely not got his hat on anymore, I decided to create a subtle sunset ombre creation.

Using x4 of my favourite lipsticks, as well as a lip liner and a dap of eyeshadow shimmer, this look can be created in under 5 minutes, with ease! Making sure your lips are marvellously moisturised, simply line them with your nearest, darkest colour and work the lipsticks in from there! I wanted to create an almost metallic/light reflecting effect, upon the lightest part of the lip, so for this I used my perviously stated gold eyeshadow cream formula eyeshadow, (this one was from illamasqua) – proving great versatility, within a product, most would only imagine being good for one purpose!

I love this subtle look. I can imagine wearing it on some of the last Summer Evenings, we’ll hopefully encounter. I also like how it matches my red sparkly dress, (of course I planned that one) and new ombre hair! If you’ve created similar looks this Summer, or are experimenting with lip colours for fall already, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to know!

Bloggers Love Fashion week | No.1 Leicester Square

Hello beauties! How are we?

I wanted to write this post to let you know about a blogging event I attended in London, Leicester Square…No.1 to be precise! The incredible Danielle from Bloggers Love (check out @Bloggers_Love on Twitter), hosts and organises events every month, and last month was a very exciting one. The first ever Bloggers Fashion Week came to London, accompanied by some spectacular Beauty & Fashion Brands.

I only managed to get down to London for one of the days, which was the last one and from what I could gather, was the most Beauty orientated day, which being a Fashion & Beauty lover, suited me down to the ground. Some of these oh so talented Beauty Brands that showcased their latest ranges, skills and creative work included The Parlour, Umberto Giannini & HiBrow!

I met some fabulous ladies with terrific Style and Beauty advice and I felt rather privileged to be a part of such a buzzing and refreshing atmosphere. I went to the event with fellow Blogger Sophie, from Eskay Beauty. We also vlogged the event, as we both have new Youtube Channels, so if you’d like to go and check them out, please do! (My channel is hollysi2style, if you didn’t know already)!

My favourite part of the event was getting glittered up by the lovely ladies from The Palour! They focus on glitter Art, if you will, and they sure did make a statement with all that sparkle! I chose to go for a slightly gum metal piece, to match my monotoned, greyish outfit, and was very pleased with the result…I even went to Bella Italia sporting the fine glittered look, post event! :D. There was also a Catwalk show, Photo Booth with Motilo and photos on Marshmallows by Boomf! What more could you wish for, for a fun filled time with fellow Bloggers.

Sophie, from Eskay Beauty also had the opportunity to try out a new sensational way of gaining back a natural eyebrow, if you’re an over plucker’er or just suffer from the case of a patchy eyebrow. The talented lady demonstrating this used eyebrow extensions, and they were incredible! I helped sophie film some of the work she was carrying out on her brows and I must say, they looked mighty fine!

I met some terrific ladies that night and got to have a good chin wag with Bloggers who I’ve been meaning to do so with, for a good while now! Those included AJ O’dudu, Beth & Katie! (Click the names to link to their Blogs). I hope to bump into them again very soon.

I’d like to say a huge thank you and well done to Bloggers Love, for putting on a fantastic array of events so far! I can’t wait to attend more of them in the commencing future. Please see the images below for my OOTD and snaps from the event.

Big Loves,

Hollybobs x

Black & Gold Luxe Outfit

i2styleheaderblackngold

i2style

This look is something that i’ve wanted to put together for a while now. I wanted to create something that showed off that sense of sophistication, an element of luxury and something that’s still bang on trend, using predominantly black with a hint of gorgeous burnt orange or gold.

I created a makeup look to compliment the look, using my recent Naked 3, Urban Decay palette. It’s such a beautiful palette, filled with rose golds, which have a pure warming undertone. I also wanted to use a contrasting and statement lipstick, so I chose to use this vibrant orange from the Makeup store (Carnaby Street).

The coat shown within my images, pulls the look together, and, for me, is my favourite item of the whole look! From River Island, this chic, faux fur, feathered, black and gold embellished piece, not only screams occasion, but it elicits something of a richer quality and design. I adore it! I paired it with a simple black shirt, from Topshop, and a similarly embellished black and gold skirt, also from Topshop (in their HQ sample sale). My belt, featured before within this blog post, is also from River Island.

To me, an outfit like this should be worn at a special occasion within the winter months. It’s not too formal, yet is still very elegant, classy and has an edge of high end fashion to it, despite all the items being from the hightstreet! It just proves how inexpensive an outfit can be, just with the right accompaniments and a striking lip!

If you’ve found any classic black and gold items recently and have posted about them on your blog, leave me a link…i’d love to see them! :)

Big loves, Holly x
