Recently, I’ve been reminiscing about the Illamasqua Ombre pink lip, I created around this time last year! Consequently, it was only a matter of time before I tested out a new one! Seeing as we’re currently in a slight transitional, seasonal period, it can be a little tricky knowing what to wear, let alone what lip colour to rock! So, as a salute to Summer…as, let’s face it, Mr Sunshine has definitely not got his hat on anymore, I decided to create a subtle sunset ombre creation.
Using x4 of my favourite lipsticks, as well as a lip liner and a dap of eyeshadow shimmer, this look can be created in under 5 minutes, with ease! Making sure your lips are marvellously moisturised, simply line them with your nearest, darkest colour and work the lipsticks in from there! I wanted to create an almost metallic/light reflecting effect, upon the lightest part of the lip, so for this I used my perviously stated gold eyeshadow cream formula eyeshadow, (this one was from illamasqua) – proving great versatility, within a product, most would only imagine being good for one purpose!
I love this subtle look. I can imagine wearing it on some of the last Summer Evenings, we’ll hopefully encounter. I also like how it matches my red sparkly dress, (of course I planned that one) and new ombre hair! If you’ve created similar looks this Summer, or are experimenting with lip colours for fall already, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to know!

Most Gals (& even some Guys) I know have been on the hunt for the perfect Autumn/Winter pair of boots lately! The ground has begun to fill with crunchy iridescent leaves and the occasional puddle…which I’m sure will become more and more frequent as the weeks go on! (as y’know, this is England and all).
Now, it’s no surprise that everyone knows my love for the high street and especially H&M. H&M is probably my most favourite high street store and has grown on me a lot more over the past few years. Its array of versatile garments actually fill me with joy and did not fail to do so when I went in last week to have a peak at their wide variety of Autumn/Winter boots! I was amazed at the amount of different styles, colours and designs they have in at the moment and it excited me a lot, I actually was stuck for choice at one point! In the end however I went with this pair of beauties! (See above/below).
My aim was to find a pair of boots that screamed out style and sturdiness, and I think these very much display that & more! As you can see the black and gold embellishment combo really works for this seasons must have trends, and just gives the look that little more umph! To me they elicit a slight hint of a military vibe, with its rigid statement back and slick/smooth frontage. The boots also have a tiny heel that could be worn from day to evening if you didn’t want to trudge through the leaves in a dainty pair of heels.
These were featured in my last blog post, if you hadn’t noticed already and thought how appropriate they really are for A/W13, that I just had to share them with you a little more closer up. Priced at £34.99, this pair of H&M beauts are going to hopefully stay with me for a very long time! If you’ve bought any boots lately and you just know how strong, sturdy and stylish they are…let me know! I’m always on the hunt for a long lasting staple pair :). Big loves x
