Monochromes v Citrus

After a little break, I’m delving straight back into some of my favourite trends for Spring, Summer 15. Today I want to talk about monochromes v citrus! Being an avid monochromatic lover, subtle pops of additional colour is the way I like to do things – and this colour way is possibly one of my favourites ever!

Gemini-Woman are one of Masai Clothing’s largest stockists in the UK & EU…and being lucky enough to work closely with the brand daily, I wanted to share some of my most loved pieces from their most recent collection. This citrus combo fabulousness is included within everyday essentials, from dresses to jackets, to super on trend culottes and leggings.

Mix your prints and focus on statement jewellery to give your simplistic looks an edge that will take you from day to night. Festival Season is also just round the corner, which some of these pieces would be perfect for! Have you seen Masai’s new collection? If so, have you spotted anything that you fancy adding to your new season wardrobe? I’d love to know :)

SS14 | Pretty in pastel

i2style

i2style

It isn’t often I wear a hue of blue, but today I dared to be different, well…sort of! This seasons pastel trend is huge, consequently, my interest in rocking an item of clothing, evoking this magnificent pastel tone, has rapidly grown throughout the past couple of months. I have had this pastel Blue coloured full length playsuit, just sitting in my wardrobe for almost a year now and was a lovely little find from Asos. I knew the structure of the outfit was enough to make a statement on its own, so I was quite pleased that the colour was so delicate, which I thought was very wearable.

In this post, I wanted to prove that paired with a paler complexion, it most certainly can be worn all year round. Most peoples perceptions of pastel colours, is one that is seen to suit more of a tanned skin tone. However, with some complimentary makeup, hair and accessories, anyone can wear it!

I hope to do many more Spring, Summer 2014 trend/outfit posts within the next coming weeks, so do let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see me post/style up. I have really enjoyed creating this post for you style lovers, and look forward to making the most of the more perhaps un-loved items with my wardrobe, as I know there are some treasures in there, I just have to delve rather deep :).

What are your favourite pastel colours? Leave me links, i’d love to see your outfits too.

Rose pink winter playsuit

i2style

i2style

As part of this Winter styling series, I wanted to include one of my favourite kind of accessory item – The bobble hat! Although my one may look like a tea cosy, it is the most snuggly hat I have ever owned! Bought from Bershka, it’s soft and subtle grey colour, combined with is cosy texture, I feel, completes any winter themed outfit, if venturing out the house.

Along with my bobble hat I have found the perfect dress up or dress down accompaniment! A rose pink, petite playsuit! Being the teeny tiny 5 foot 1 size that I am, I have struggled in the past to find a fitted and appropriately lengthed garment, without it swamping my lil legs! However when I went into Topshop, not long ago in my nearest home town, Solihull…this caught my eye straight away and I found the perfect one!

I tried on this pretty playsuit and immediately fell in love with its soft toned colour and simplistic structure. Topshop is also well known for its variety of petite garments, so once it was on, I was more than satisfied with its flattering shape! Also, as some of you may have known from my past few tweets and fb messages, that I also work for an evening wear boutique, called Lilly-Lou! (I do a lot of the Marketing, PR, online & in store advising and general management of any kind of up and coming fashion show or fashion shoot), and this week was a celebration of our 1 year anniversary! As a result, I aided in the organisation of having an exclusive open evening to give the buying public, bloggers and other creatives a true opportunity to join us in the showcasing of our stunning collections!

After many weeks & possibly months of organising the event, ofcourse one important factor that played on my mind was what on earth I was going to wear. (Oh the priorities of a Fashion lover!). Consequently since bringing this beautiful playsuit home, I knew it was professional, classic and versatile enough to dress up and wear to such a celebratory yet formal event! The night was an overall success and I will share a commencing post all about the evening very soon, if you’re interested ofcourse!?

Yet, for now I would love to share with you my latest styling of this garment, and understand how something so simple can look so frosty and cool toned, in this current snuggle season! I purchased a thick and snuggly aztec printed scarf, last year from H&M, and found it to go really well, once paired with something with a more pastel toned coloured garment – it was also of course keeping me very warm :). Joining the outfit, nothing would be complete without a hint of subtle sparkle…so, I put on my Swarovski necklace that was so kindly bought for my by my boyfriend and my D&G watch, which was also a gift for my Birthday. Both are stunning with any toned down outfit!

Let me know if you know of any other fab petite ranges that are out at the moment and which winter style pieces you’re styling up with your snuggly hat and other winter accessories!

My luxury Christmas lust list!

i2styleheader4

i2style luxury lust list

Today, I have been browsing through some of my favourite blogs and one that always catches my attention is Ella’s; who runs the blog – Coco’s Tea Party. As I was scrolling down her page, I was quickly drawn to the Net-A-Porter Advert, displayed in her sidebar. Usually, I am so pre-occupied with the Bloggers content, that I don’t necessarily take much notice of the ads surrounding the pages. However, today was different. I have always lusted over some of Net-A-Porters luxury items and the advert that was linked to Ella’s Blog jumped out at me more than ever. The image is beautifully shot, dynamic and oozes sophistication, style and sass! Which to me, includes all the important components of putting together a successful and meaningful ad! It sure caught my eye anyway.

Consequently, I clicked the link and found myself being drawn in by the stunning sparkle shots that scattered the pages! I haven’t looked at this website in a while, so I was certainly giving it a good browse through and instantly began to create an imaginary wish list, (if I was to afford such beautiful items as these)! The likes of Gucci, Erickson Beamon and Lanvin have only existed in my dreams, but one day, with a lot of hard work and savings, maybe the style lover within me will be truly treated! (Pah, she says :p).

So, seeing as Christmas is only round the corner & we are beginning to reveal and plan are celebratory occasions, I have decided to create my perfect luxury Christmas lust list, in conjunction with an evening wear outfit, using the items and designers shown on the Net-A-Porter website. The outfit I have put together is chic, sexy yet classic! I would wear this on an evening out somewhere on Christmas Eve with my boyfriend and friends at a sassy restaurant or cocktail bar. See the info below to see which designers have caught my eye and how much each item is in regards to the image above! I’m so in love…

New AW Zara Coat!

image

i2style

Since getting caught up within the rain & the storms last weekend, I decided it was about time I purchased a snuggly, waterproof Autumn, Winter coat, and it wasn’t long before I found the perfect one! I visited Zara a few weeks ago and couldn’t keep my eyes off this coat, i’d tried it on in store, in a size small and it was fitted, warm and rather chic! With its gold and black colour way and soft, creamy, gold, faux fur hood, I knew it would prey on my mind, so I decided to bite the bullet and invest in this quality, bang on trend coat.

Zara showcase so many fabulous items for this commencing leaf crunching season and with the weather warnings slowly creeping up on us, regarding the chances of possible snow and more rain later this month, it was a rather good time to have a look around. The coat was priced at £89.99 and to be honest, I felt that this was pretty reasonable, for a coat that should last me a very long time, ljust ike my previous ones have…(after all the thought of standing outside in the cold, without a coat like this, already gives my the shivers!) Brr.

I would recommend this type of coat/jacket for anyone. Not just because of its ‘snug as a bug’ feel & look, but because of its versatility. The hood and other elements of the coat is removabl, which is perfect, if you were to continue wearing it right through to spring. Plus, its gold embellishments, press stud and zip up detailing features, to me, adds a touch of luxury! It’s also an easy item to pair with any outfit, for the day time or in the evening. I think it is fair to say it’s a winner! Wahoooo.

If you’ve purchased a fabulous coat this season and you’re feeling prepared for the British weather to intensify, which coat have you purchased? I can’t wait to see how snuggled we all are, especially with bonfire night on its way! :)
