Nextmas Wish List

i2style

It’s not long to go until that magical Man wriggles down our chimneys and brings us the greatest gifts of all, (and no, unfortunately I’m not referring to Ryan Gosling, but that would be a Christmas treat and a half! So, Santa, if you read that…I’ve been VERY good this year ;). Second to Mr G, there are more than a few things I’m longing for, from one of the Nations favourite stores – Next. I recently visited the team for the Blogger Networking Event and seem to fall more and more in love with the brand every time I hear, speak or read about them. Plus, with a fair few catalogues dotted about at the event, my Christmas (or shall I say, ‘Nextmas’) wish list, is forever growing…and I’m rather intrigued to find out what Santa’s budget is this time round. *Chuckles*. So I thought i’d break down my list, which may also give you some inspiration too! From new faux fur blankets, to the most beautiful Christmas PJ’s, see the gifts below and let me know what you’ve asked for this year. I’d love to know!

Wearable Tech Pins You & I Are Loving

i2style

It’s no secret that i’m fascinated by wearable tech and what they’re able to do for not only futuristic fashion shows, but the health world and many other industries too. It’s amazing how a piece of specially designed technology could aid with someones quality of life, so i’m here to show you via Pinterest, which pins you and I have been loving recently and why they’re so interesting.

Firstly, 3D printing is booming! Companies like Strategy’s are collaborating with innovative designers, such as Van Herpen to create second skin like designs for Paris Fashion Week. (This was my most pinned image recently).

Francessca Barchiesi concept around expanding the communicative power of sign language, by reading and converting hand gestures into practical movements is pretty cool! The glove can also be used to translate sign language used by deaf people, into spoken language! For a student – Francessca’s ideas are one’s I’d love to see develop and become even more of a success.

Perfecting movement is a huge aspect of any professional dancer’s (or similar) profession. And, with the help of wearable technology, this side of ‘practice makes perfect’ has got a whole lot more advance! By electronically tracing the movement of dancers, Lesia Trubat’s uses a lily pad arduino microcontroller board to record the pressure and actions of their feet and send the signal to an electronic device.

It’s no secret that I’m a lover of the high-street and the vast array of fashion and beauty products available, season upon season. When I found out H&M were set to launch their brand new AW15 beauty range, I must say, I was immediately impressed. From the stunning product photography, to the simplistically chic packaging, I’m intrigued to find out more about the product quality themselves!

i2style beauty

Inspired by seasonal trends and colours, the launch includes a full range of make-up, haircare, body care and beauty styling essentials. The launch comes at a time when it is easier than ever before to create a personal style statement with beauty products, whether the desired look is natural, classic or more dramatic. There will be new, dedicated beauty areas in stores for customers to experiment with the latest make-up trends and develop a personal and unique look.

i2style beauty

We are very excited to launch H&M Beauty. It’s an opportunity to be inventive, creative and to have fun with colour that inspires us,” says Sara Wallander, Concept Designer, H&M Beauty.

There will be over 700 beautifully packaged make-up products in the collection, with seasonal drops of new and limited edition colour palettes throughout the year.  The new assortment, which will replace existing beauty products at H&M, will also include two subsidiary collections: a premium beauty line and a conscious range of Ecocert-approved sustainable products.

With Topshop usually being my no.1 go to for high-street make-up, could H&M shoot to the top of my future wish lists? Either way, I’m excited to find out! What beauty products do you go for from the high-street and are you looking forward to the new aw15 collections? Let me know in the comments below!

Be summer ready with the Netatmo June

i2style netatmo june

The summer season is almost upon us and many plans are being made, that admittedly, revolve around the sun! Whether it’s a holiday you’ve got booked, or plans to attend a festival, it’s now that we really need to think twice about the potential damage being done to our skin. With the health and wellness industry on the rise, and the wearable technology world set to boom, it’s products like the Netatmo June, that are truly going to make an impact!

i2style wearable technology

As a health conscious nation, we are aware of the implications the sun’s rays can cause to not only our insides, but on the outside too. It’s no lie that us beauty lovers have a strict skincare routine, to prevent those lurky lines and dry skin, and part of that routine includes putting on a number of anti-wrinkle creams and SPF included moisturisers, but probably don’t take as much time to put on that all important high factor sun cream…unless we’re beginning to feel the burn.

Sending notifications to your smart phone, the June is an incredibly exciting new wearable device. With an opulent outer aesthetic and a killer inner intelligence system, using UVA and UVB sensors, the June is able to measure the amount of sun exposure to your skin, making it a pretty sassy way to monitor when you should be topping up on your sun protection and staying in the shade!

To my delight, the June is now available to buy in the beauty haven we call Space NK. Priced at £118, this nifty wearable piece is available in three classic colour ways, including gold, platinum and gunmetal. Using the free downloadable app, June is able to tell you when to re-apply SPF and at what level. A pretty valuable purchase if you think about the long term health benefits. This sort of device is something I know i’d check as much as my emails, especially when spending more and more time outdoors this summer.

Vogue’s Sarah Brown: If you were stuck on a desert island forever and allowed one product, what would that product be?

“On a desert island: Sunscreen. And every other week a new delivery would be airdropped, probably by drone”.

I’d love to know your thoughts on the beauty industry meeting with wearable tech and if this type of product is at the top of your summer wish list!

New Jewellery Finds

i2style jewellery

i2style Holly

When a good piece of jewellery catches my eye, it has a delicate yet statement quality about it – a piece that can be worn from day to night, with a little helping hand from an outfit switch up. I’ve been after a few new pieces for a while now, yet nothing grabbed me as much as these two.

I’ve lusted over jewellery designs from the likes of Lily-Kamper and such, predominantly over the perfect cyber world some call Pinterest, yet nothing I had seen in a while, which was in my price range (aka high street or nothing), seemed quirky enough. Then on a fantastic weekend to London with my girls, as Topshop as the first pit stop from Oxford Street tube station, an array or jewellery such as this screamed at me at first glance. (It was love).

The marble details within the design, combined with its unusual shape and simplistic choker all work harmoniously…and I’m thinking how I can harmonise it with that wardrobe of mine :p. With jewellery like that, I think it’s important to remember that less is more’. I’ve already worn this piece to work over buttoned up black and white shirts, with crop tops and long skirts in the evenings and even over jumpers. It’s an item I know I can wear time and time again, season upon season. And for just under £15 – I think I found a right gem. (ha ‘gem’ lol).

My next item, is something I’d been wanting to get my hands on for ages, however went back and forth continually, contemplating whether something like this would suit me and if it would be appropriate to pair with my everyday looks. The only way to find out, was to bite the bullet and just buy one. So, Asos – the heaven of online shopping, came through again, with this little beauty.

Now, I must say, it was a difficult choice, as Asos have SO many to choose from, but I wanted to try something more diddy and delicate, so for under a tenner, this piece was purchased. It did take me a while to get the hang of how it actually fit on my head, as I kept letting go of the chains when gripping them in place, but I soon learn’t and absolutely adore it!

I can’t wait to wear it on a night out soon. Have you got any new statement jewellery that you know you’ll be wearing time and time again? I’d love to know! Big loves, Holly x
