AW14 Date Night Lust List!

i2style

i2style aw14

Hello style lovers! I hope you’re enjoying the weekend so far.

With the weather transitioning from rays to rain, this season doesn’t have to be dull and dreary, like some people may associate with September onwards, especially within the wardrobe department! For me, this season is all about sparkle, snuggles and sass! With the exciting lead up to events such as Bonfire night, Christmas and New Year, one popular occasion I often think is perfect to plan around this time of year, is date night!

For us long term relationshipers’ – ‘date night’ occurs on the rather rare occasion, and for those newbie couples, it can’t happen enough! Either way, whoever you are (even if you’re an independent woman & fancy some new outfit inspiration for your night out with the gals), I have the cutest date night lust list, right here, on i2style! I recently participated in a fashion blogger photoshoot for a fab company called Gemini…and let me tell you, there was some serious lusting going on behind those rails! Both their online site and stunning store, located in the sophisticated little town of Stratford Upon Avon, is home to a number of wearable and on trend brands. Ones such as French Connection, Sandwich Clothing, Hobbs and more, it really is a place for everyone!

After our divine day at the shoot, (photos to follow soon), I decided to have a real good look at some of the items, I may have missed in store, by going online. After looking through just a few of the brands they stock, I was already finding myself creating an imaginary lust list, and thought the items would be perfect for a date, day or night! As a result I thought what better way of expressing my love for some of the garments, than with this very blog post, so you all can too, get a little outfit inspo.

I chose to share these more softer, cool toned pastel items, due to their feminine prints, cuts and over all look. They would all work well together, with the added option of a pair of tights or leggings, if the frost decided to bite more than we’d perhaps like! The boots seemed to give the outfit a subtle, yet sexy, statement look too – without over powering it.

Let me know your thoughts on the items shown above, and what your favourite items are from the site. Perhaps you could create your own lust list too, and don’t forget to send me and Gemini the link, as we’d love to see!

Big loves, as always, Hollybobs x

Styling with the Samsung gear 2

i2style

i2style wearable technology

Todays wearable technology spotlight post, will be focussing upon the more fashionable side of thangs! Being an avid fashion lover and tech enthusiast, with a background in fashion styling, I wanted to aid in the shifting of views, in regards to the slightly controversial, aesthetically appeal of the smart watch. I have always been a huge fan of Samsung, and haven’t owned any other make of smart phone, since I can remember! Recently, I upgraded to the new Samsung Galaxy S5, and with it, came with some rather insightful and intriguing apps. So, I recently decided to link up the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear fit, to the Gear Manager app. Not only did I discover a whole new love for these products and their capabilities, but I found styling up (more specifically) the Gear2, a joy!

As a result, i’d like to share a few of my more seasonal/transitional pieces, that I feel compliment this very cool piece of technology, well. Seeing as our AW14 season is fast approaching, I decided to pair together a mix of monochrome pieces, with delicate pops of block colours! Wearing a mixture of different textures and combining a variety of colour ways within our outfits, are just some of the huge trends coming from the catwalk this season! An example of where I’d wear this type of look, would be to an event, or a sophisticated lunch meeting, perhaps. Plus, with a great pair of statement heels and a more vibrant and graphic orientated bag, this look can take you from day to night! If that wasn’t enough, this technology piece gives you the added bonus of being able to take snaps, film your evening and take those all important phone calls, without having to rummage around within your Mary Poppins bag! Now, to me, that is convenience on my wrist!

With the Gear 2’s wallpaper choices, as well as the option of uploading your own personal photos to your home and lock screens, you really can aid in the accessorising of any outfit…with just a few taps! With this look, I chose to have a patterned orange front, and yes, I did consider my nail colour that day. Works well though, doesn’t it? I can understand the talk around the aesthetics of this particular smart watch, and how it may not be to everyone’s taste, yet I hope I’ve managed to display just how a few complimentary accessory and garment items, can enable a wearable tech piece, to blend well, and play a pretty vital part, within an on trend outfit choice!

It’s an exciting time for wearables, and are considered as being ‘the bridge between you and your phone’. If you’re interested in finding out a little more about being smart, and how you can mix style with purpose, click here, to find out more. I will also be uploading a Youtube video soon, where I talk a lot more in depth about the functions and fashionable advantages, these wearables prove to have shown me! I’d love to know your opinions on whether you think wearables are fashionable, and if you would consider wearing them with your every day outfits?! I do hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and remember to let me know your thoughts in the comments below, I really look forward to reading them.

Subtle ombre sunset lip

i2style

i2style

Recently, I’ve been reminiscing about the Illamasqua Ombre pink lip, I created around this time last year! Consequently, it was only a matter of time before I tested out a new one! Seeing as we’re currently in a slight transitional, seasonal period, it can be a little tricky knowing what to wear, let alone what lip colour to rock! So, as a salute to Summer…as, let’s face it, Mr Sunshine has definitely not got his hat on anymore, I decided to create a subtle sunset ombre creation.

Using x4 of my favourite lipsticks, as well as a lip liner and a dap of eyeshadow shimmer, this look can be created in under 5 minutes, with ease! Making sure your lips are marvellously moisturised, simply line them with your nearest, darkest colour and work the lipsticks in from there! I wanted to create an almost metallic/light reflecting effect, upon the lightest part of the lip, so for this I used my perviously stated gold eyeshadow cream formula eyeshadow, (this one was from illamasqua) – proving great versatility, within a product, most would only imagine being good for one purpose!

I love this subtle look. I can imagine wearing it on some of the last Summer Evenings, we’ll hopefully encounter. I also like how it matches my red sparkly dress, (of course I planned that one) and new ombre hair! If you’ve created similar looks this Summer, or are experimenting with lip colours for fall already, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to know!

Styling up with Smiley!

i2style Smiley

i2style Smiley

I have been a fan of Smiley since I was a wee little nipper! Its 90’s nostalgia, fills me with fun and fabulous memories! Yet, since I attended their AW14 press day at Boxpark – London, whilst interning, I was able to see a huge transition, where Smiley’s design concepts, incorporated more modern day trends, in a much more unique manner! The pieces I saw were wearable, fresh, and still managed to elicit the true Smiley stamp, throughout! (Mentioning that I dribbled over almost every garment and accessory, is possibly an understatement)…I was impressed to say the least.

Since then, I have not only included some footage from the press event, within one of my latest vlogs, I decided to style up two of some pretty sassy Smiley caps! The colours of the caps worked perfectly, with the outfit I had in mind for this shoot. Where I live; in Birmingham, England, we are currently in the seasonal transitional period, where by our Summer days are no longer filled with bright and bold block print cocktail dresses, or warm and hazy pimms Summer evenings…no sir! They are beginning to feel more crisp and much, much cooler! Consequently wearing a more monotoned combination, seemed the best way to go, and with the slight pops of colour the caps displayed, the outfit became complete, (in a much more complimentary fashion, than I had originally envisioned)!

Take a look at the images shown below, to see the clothing combo and slight colour flashes. I feel they work great when moving from a Summer wardrobe, into a more Autumnal one. The greatest element to an outfit such as this one, is being able to layer! Plus, with the added awesomeness of a Minion in Chanel on my top, my life is complete :p. I hope you’ve all had a beautiful Summer so far, do let me know what pieces you’ve been putting together for this current season, and what brands you’ll been heading for, for AW14, i’d love to know!
