Acuregen offers tailor-made vegan lipsticks!

i2style

As part of a London Fashion Week Press Day, I was fortunate enough to meet the incredible ladies from Puriskin, AcuREGEN. With backgrounds in alternative therapy, acupuncture and the Medical professions, these are women who understand the importance of a natural product. Having sensitive skin myself, with family members who suffer from severe eczema, beauty products such as these bring music to our ears. Especially now we’re coming into the harsh, colder weather, and the need for extra moisture is at it’s highest!

I was lucky enough to have a custom made lipstick created for me, according to my needs and general tastes. With any colour being possible, I was excited to get started and to see first hand how they can make a lipstick so fast without the need for harsh chemicals. Botanically formulated and enriched with natural Grapeseed and organic jojoba oil, these are ingredients which reflect the human oils that the body naturally produces, (meaning its a much lower risk product in terms of skin reactions).

The most exciting part for me was not only seeing my chosen colour form (I asked for a frosted lilac colour perfect for the winter), but the opportunity to add in further customisable elements, such as scents and flavours. Again, all 100% natural, I asked fora moisterising Vanilla, (though it was tempting when the offer of citrus flavours were put in front of me). They also do a plant-based lip treat formula, very similar to a lip balm, which I think i’ll be purchasing very soon.

Do see the images and Youtube video, showing some of the processes and keep an eye out for the next post, where I’ll be sharing my latest winter frost shoot, where I wear my brand new lipstick in conjunction with a fab faux fur jacket. Have you heard of acuRgenen? Let me know in the comments below what colour lipstick you would go for this winter, and do check these ladies out, they do not disappoint.

Pucker up Princesses! Revlon’s Colourburst balm swatches

As an addition to my last post, as promised, I stated that I would show my latest lip product purchases in its true form upon the lips, so you can get a really good idea of the colour pigmentation and finish. I am so happy with all of them and can see these becoming a favourite of mine, when needing to whip one into my bag, in a rush!

I would wear all of these on different occasions, some are more night time appropriate than others, but I love that, as it gives me versatility to switch them up every now and again. So, below are the Revlon Colourburst Matte Lip Balms, swatched upon the lips. Let me know which one is your favourite colour, as I literally can’t choose! I’m really looking forward to the next coming months too, and hopefully the Sun will brighten my complexion, as I think these would look even more stunning with a sun kissed, natural glow!

Colours shown from top to bottom are – 215 | Shameless – 220 | Showy – 210 | Unapologetic – 245 | Audacious

Also there is one of the colours that I think I have left at work, but will be sure to post a pic whilst wearing it upon my twitter or instagram when I’ve re located it!

What Valentines look of love shall I go for? | Pinterest edition

i2stylevalentines3

I can scour the wonders of Pinterest, daily! The inspirational images of beautifully perfected hair, makeup and lustrous outfit looks, have swallowed me up and now, my heads in a bit of a spin…in a good way. I love how inspiration and iconic photographs of others can enable yourself to adapt, admire and to become influenced and intrigued in more ways than one!

Valentines Day is just ONE day away! (woop woop), and despite me still not knowing what me and my boyfriend will be getting up to, it’s a perfect excuse to get dressed up, embrace my femininity and enhance all my favourite features, and you should too! However, I am in one little pickle. Due to our magical, procrastination tool, Pinterest, I decided to create a board, inspired by the loved up looks of others and choose a look from one of the images/a little something from a few of them shown below, all for the purpose of re creating my own lusted up look, specifically tailored towards this special occasion. And, I would like your help!

Below are just a few images i’ve taken from my Pinterest board, with makeup looks that I would like to choose from. I could go with a girly nude lip and smouldering smokey eyes, a Hollywood glamour red lip and exaggerated eyelashes, or finally a more natural complexion and a deep, dark, wine stained pout! Which one should I go for?! (Which ever one I do, will be filmed for my next youtube video :), so let me know in the comments below which one you think would suit me best.

Deep blushed lacquered lips

Lipstick is possibly my favourite makeup product, of all time. With my pale complexion and deeply creasing eye-lids, I find that my lips are what I can create a statement with, with the use of a fabulous lipstick, lacquer or gloss! In todays post, I wanted to show you two of my most recent lip purchases, and how they look, when combined together!

When I excitedly visited my local Space NK the other day, I went straight over to the Nars counter, where I more than drooled over the beautiful array of shades, that were on display! My favourite type of lip product, has to be a matte lipstick, and since I’ve begun to find my preferred colours are of a berry, deep or plum type shade…when I came across Volga, I instantly fell in love!

I find a lot of lipsticks can appear to be more intimidating than they actually are, so if you’re thinking of trying a new lip product, yet are worried the colour looks to dark, swatch and sample it with the testers that are on show, and I can reassure you that you will be pleasantly surprised. This colour is more of a deep wine colour, which glides on beautifully upon the lips. Again, the good thing with these types of lipsticks, is that it is build able. You could simply dab it on the lips for a subtle hint of colour, or get a lip brush and really layer the product up, creating as strong a lip colour as you wish!

The next item I purchased, was one that intrigued me greatly! I have never owned a lip lacquer before, so when I spotted the last one of these perfectly purpled lip products in Topshop, I wanted to try it right away. When applying to the lips, this lacquer goes on, almost like a gloss, yet dries completely matte! A-M-A-ZING! This may now be my new favourite product. Eek, I get far too excited over these things haha!

Since I purchased both lip products on the same day, with full intention of filming a new Youtube video later on that day, it took me no time at all before I got them both on my lips, and wondered what they would look like, when applied together. And, as you can see from the images, this was the result! I was really happy with the outcome, and know these two are going to take me right through the year, through all seasons, which is both exciting and reliving, as I always want to get my moneys worth when spending £10 or over on a lip product.

Black & Gold Luxe Outfit

i2styleheaderblackngold

i2style

This look is something that i’ve wanted to put together for a while now. I wanted to create something that showed off that sense of sophistication, an element of luxury and something that’s still bang on trend, using predominantly black with a hint of gorgeous burnt orange or gold.

I created a makeup look to compliment the look, using my recent Naked 3, Urban Decay palette. It’s such a beautiful palette, filled with rose golds, which have a pure warming undertone. I also wanted to use a contrasting and statement lipstick, so I chose to use this vibrant orange from the Makeup store (Carnaby Street).

The coat shown within my images, pulls the look together, and, for me, is my favourite item of the whole look! From River Island, this chic, faux fur, feathered, black and gold embellished piece, not only screams occasion, but it elicits something of a richer quality and design. I adore it! I paired it with a simple black shirt, from Topshop, and a similarly embellished black and gold skirt, also from Topshop (in their HQ sample sale). My belt, featured before within this blog post, is also from River Island.

To me, an outfit like this should be worn at a special occasion within the winter months. It’s not too formal, yet is still very elegant, classy and has an edge of high end fashion to it, despite all the items being from the hightstreet! It just proves how inexpensive an outfit can be, just with the right accompaniments and a striking lip!

If you’ve found any classic black and gold items recently and have posted about them on your blog, leave me a link…i’d love to see them! :)

Big loves, Holly x
